Out of the Closet, 2012, Tulle, Metallic Spandex, Human Hair, Dressform, 7' x 1.5'

This sartorial sculpture explores the concept of identifying Queer people through their style and subversion of semiotic symbols curated for their bodies. Incorporating elements of the macabre, biology, high fashion and drag, the sculpture creates a complicated relationship between our bodies and what we wear. Originally presented at Descry Arts Projects exhibition OUT TWENTY-FOUR at White Space Gallery, NY.
