Alexander Cavaluzzo (@AleksandrJohn) is a writer and artist based in the East Village. He's currently a writer at Newsweek, and has written for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, BlackBook Magazine, Nerve, Defenestration, Performa Magazine, The Style Con, Gaga Stigmata and regularly writes for "The World's Greatest New York Art Blog" Hyperallergic. His writing has also appeared in New York Magazine and the New York Times (albeit in the form of advertising copy...)
His artwork has been featured in Miami Art Basel, Aperture Gallery, Descry Arts Projects’ exhibition OUT TWENTY-FOUR at White Space Gallery, NY, and other venues across NYC.
He once won an award for his writing in the 1st grade, for a piece about his cat. The sequel, about his dog, is expected to be on the short list for the Pulitzer Prize.
When he's a drag queen, his name will be Miss Anthrope.
